Tay Dall is an acclaimed South African painter known for her vibrant abstract works that harmonize disparate elements through a unique blend of collage, ink, pastel, and pencil. Born in Cape Town in 1966, she began her artistic journey at age eight and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Michaelis School of Art. After immigrating to Los Angeles in 1988, Tay worked in the film industry and exhibited her art, eventually pursuing a full-time career.
With over 90 exhibitions worldwide and representation in more than 30 galleries, including her signature space, The Tay Modern-Hermanus, Tay’s work is sought after by numerous collectors. Since returning to South Africa in 1995, she creates from her studio in Hermanus.
Tay emphasizes integrity in her artistic and entrepreneurial pursuits, believing that honesty and dedication are vital for success. For her, appreciation and respect are the ultimate rewards for her hard work.
