“I want to depict the body as a highly intelligent, feeling organism inseparable from mind and environment; I see the active body as a cognitive mechanism in itself” – Rebecca Ivatts

Rebecca Ivatts, an English artist who’s training centred on the human body and anatomy, applying elements of expressionism with realism, Rebecca creates large format works, depicting the human body in life-size scale. In the absence of recognisable context, Rebecca’s figures take on a life of their own, conveying their own essence with poignancy. Inspired by nature and form,The Shroud II is a fantastic example of Rebecca’s artistic talent, capturing the viewer with it’s depth and beauty.
