Artist Bio

Born in 1869, jennifer thomson exhibited a talent for art from a young age. After studying at the Edinburgh College of Art, she obtained a teaching qualification from moray house and worked in education for a number of years before starting work as a full-time artist.

Thomson began her artistic career by exhibiting jointly, before moving on to solo exhibitions and shows. These led to greater successes as she grew her career and following.

Thomson has enjoyed many notable commissions, such as those for hotels, inns, and golf courses – including one that was unveiled by HRH The Princess Royal for the Ladies Putting Club of St Andrews. Her work is also held in high profile private collections, such as the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Thomson currently lives and works in Edinburgh, often spending time in the village of Elie in Fife, which also serves as inspiration for many of her artworks.
