David Kracov’s Every Stroke Counts is a powerful reflection on the way our experiences shape us. This heart-shaped sculpture is made from galvanized metal, with each colorful brushstroke representing an individual moment, feeling, or memory. The strokes come together to form a complete heart, symbolizing how our lives are made up of many smaller, interconnected parts—each one contributing to the whole.

Kracov’s work invites us to think about the layers of our own identities: how each experience, whether joyful or challenging, adds depth and meaning. The metallic finish of the piece contrasts with the fluidity of the painted strokes, highlighting both the permanence and the change inherent in human life. Every Stroke Counts is a reminder that, like a painting, we are constantly being reshaped by the events and choices that make up our lives.

David Kracov (b. 1968, Boston) is an acclaimed American sculptor known for his vibrant steel wall sculptures and his unique fusion of animation and fine art. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Kracov began his career in animation, working on iconic films like The Lion King, Aladdin, and Cool World before transitioning to sculpture.

Kracov’s distinctive style involves hand-cutting intricate designs from a single sheet of steel, which are then painted with bright, high-grade acrylics. His works, often featuring motifs of butterflies as symbols of hope and transformation, radiate energy and emotion. Notable pieces include The Book of Life and My Heart Is All a Flutter, and his work is held in private collections worldwide, including those of Steven Spielberg, Matt Damon, and Whoopi Goldberg.

Kracov has also collaborated with major brands like Coca-Cola and Disney, creating limited edition pieces for galleries, theme parks, and luxury hotels. His sculptures, known for their meticulous craftsmanship and joyful, colorful spirit, continue to be celebrated in galleries across North America, Europe, and Asia.
