Step into the evocative world of Je ne fume plus, a compelling artwork that both challenges and captivates through its rich tapestry of colour, texture, and layered meaning. Awash in vibrant reds and oranges, the piece unfurls like a visual symphony, where past and present converge in a bold dance of form and narrative.
The composition is at once chaotic and harmonious, with collaged imagery and text overlapping like memories competing for attention. These vivid hues are more than colours—they pulse with emotion: passion, defiance, and transformation. Drips of paint cascade across the surface, suggesting movement and change, while the raw, expressive technique showcases the artist’s ability to fuse texture with storytelling.
Steeped in cultural and historical resonance, the work bridges vintage nostalgia and contemporary critique. Collaged fragments of adverts, magazines, and imagery reflect shifting societal attitudes and personal decisions, drawing viewers into dialogue with both the familiar and the forgotten.
The boldly emblazoned title, Je ne fume plus, adds a striking final note—a statement of cessation and change that invites endless interpretations. More than just something to display, this piece is an experience: a journey through time, emotion, and reflection. A standout addition to any collection, it speaks to art’s enduring power to provoke thought and stir the soul.

Charlotte Rose (b. 1998, Aberdeen) is a self-taught British artist and writer based in London.
With roots in creative writing and a professional background in modeling, Rose creates vivid, layered paintings that critique consumer culture through the language of advertising, literature, and nostalgia. Working primarily in oil and acrylic on canvas, paper, and wood, she reimagines mid- to late-20th-century branding with biting intimacy—embedding iconic logos and packaging with poetic text, surreal symbolism, and satirical undertones.
Her work is deeply literary, drawing from authors like Shakespeare and Vonnegut, and pairing their words with mass-market products like cigarettes and processed foods. Through this, Rose constructs a compelling visual archive of manufactured desire, confronting the emotional manipulation behind commercial imagery and the contradictions of modern identity.
Obsessed with the mechanics of allure—both in art and in branding—her practice is personal, compulsive, and defiantly Pop. She often uses social media as an extension of her art world presence, blending her persona with her process, embracing the tensions between artist and product, subject and spectacle.
Since beginning her practice during the COVID-19 pandemic, Rose has exhibited internationally in Austin, Miami, and London. She has collaborated with major brands such as Gucci and Coach, and her work is held in private collections around the world.
