130/365 limited edition print.
Each has its own unique colour scheme so is akin to owning an original piece.

Marking a milestone in the life of one of Britain’s most beloved entertainers, Free Flight is a remarkable series of 365 individually hand-signed giclée prints by Billy Connolly, CBE. Released in celebration of his 80th birthday on 24th November 2022, this limited collection offers collectors a rare opportunity to own a truly unique piece of art- each one as distinctive and expressive as Billy himself.

Every artwork in the Free Flight series is printed on luxurious deckle-edged paper, hand-finished, and uniquely coloured—no two are alike. Framed to the highest standard each piece was individually numbered in Roman numerals and personally signed by Billy Connolly.

The artwork itself reimagines Billy’s iconic 2018 release Free Flight, with each new iteration bringing vibrant and playful variations in colour to the balloon motif making each piece feel like an original drawing.

This is more than a print—it’s a one-of-a-kind celebration of creativity, humour, and individuality from a living legend.

Billy Connolly, the world-renowned musician and comedian, has created iconic artworks that resonate as powerfully as his legendary comedy. His faceless figures, which are open to individual interpretation, possess a unique self-awareness that connects deeply with viewers. Featured in The Times and various documentaries, including Billy Connolly: It’s Been a Pleasure, his minimalist drawings have been praised by critics as “poignant,” “funny,” and “enigmatic.”

Connolly’s artistic journey began in 2007, during a rainy day in Montreal, where he bought art supplies on a whim. This led to the creation of his debut fine art collection, Born On A Rainy Day, which launched in 2012. His series of limited-edition prints and stainless-steel sculptures combine humor with elements of his own life, showcasing his rich talents as a visual artist. In 2023, a coffee-table book featuring over 300 of his works was published, further cementing his status in the art world.

Although Connolly began his career as a welder in Glasgow, his artistic expression has evolved significantly, incorporating color into his work over the years. This new dimension has added vibrancy to pieces like Windswept and Interesting, inspired by his teenage years in Glasgow’s dance halls. Despite no longer performing stand-up comedy, Connolly continues to cherish the connection he has with his art collectors, particularly in Scotland, where his fans feel a personal bond with him that transcends mere celebrity.
