Lana Okiro
Lana Okiro is one of the most exciting still-life artists currently working in the UK. Over the years, she has developed a distinctive style influenced by the masters she admires, including Paul Cézanne and Claude Monet. Favouring oil on canvas, Lana’s contemporary interpretations feature bold strokes and vibrant colours, creating vivid works infused with a surprising subtlety.
When viewed up close, Lana’s paintings reveal a rich, layered application of paint. This textured approach transforms into beautiful, realistic images when seen from a distance. Her delicate use of colour and evocative shading are expertly arranged to capture the essence of nature with both accuracy and style. By employing a palette knife, Lana ensures that each stroke is crisply defined, lending a striking clarity to her finished pieces.
Born in the picturesque countryside of Western Ukraine, Lana grew up on a farm, nurturing a deep love for animals, the outdoors, and the natural world’s extraordinary beauty. Her passion for art began early, as she spent her childhood drawing and copying illustrations. She went on to study Artistic Design and Education, continuously refining her skills through self-training and practice. Her career has spanned teaching art and working in Interior Design.
Now residing in Surrey, Lana delights in creating art that captures the beauty of everyday objects. Her bright and uplifting paintings are featured in private collections and galleries throughout the UK.
