Harry Holland
Harry Holland (b. 1941, Glasgow) is celebrated as one of Britain’s leading figurative realist painters.
Trained at St Martin’s School of Art, he combines classical technique with contemporary narratives that explore timeless human themes.
His meticulous use of light, form and composition evokes both intimacy and mystery, drawing viewers into moments suspended between reality and imagination.
Holland’s works are held in major public collections, including the Tate Gallery, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the National Museum of Wales. Based in Cardiff since the 1970s, he continues to produce technically masterful paintings that exemplify British academic realism at its finest.
