Henderson Cisz
Henderson Cisz was born in 1960, and raised in a small town near Maringa in Brazil. He always had a love for art, although chose to work in banking initially. After a few years, however, he determined to pursue his art as more than the hobby it had always been. In 1986, he moved to the uk to become a full-time artist.
After starting off as a portrait painter for tourists in London, Cisz began to see more recognition for his art, and increasing sales. His affection for the bustle of city life has since driven much of his work. over the years, he has risen in success, with international exhibitions and artworks held in a number of private and corporate collections.
Cisz was recognised as the artist of the year in the uk in 2007 – the same year, he won the John Solomon Trophy. In addition to these and various other awards, Cisz has been the feature of two art books.
Travel has always been an important part of Cisz’s work, as his immersion in the cities he paints has allowed him to capture each location in a way that goes beyond the surface. As well as continuing to travel for his art, he now lives and works in London.
