Vernon W Jones

Vernon W. Jones is a Welsh artist renowned for his captivating marine art, particularly seascapes, which he has passionately developed since 2005. His journey into the world of maritime art began in 2003 with a focus on J Class yachts, leading him to create stunning seascapes that evoke the beauty and power of the ocean.

Dividing his time between Wales and Macedonia, Jones has exhibited his work internationally, with 17 solo exhibitions and 44 group exhibitions across countries including Scotland, Italy, Germany, and Bulgaria. His paintings reflect a deep technical skill, honed through his studies in Design and Wildlife Illustration from 1992 to 1994, alongside his self-taught mastery in oils, acrylics, and watercolour.

Jones’s work transcends mere photorealism; from a distance, his waves appear astonishingly lifelike, while closer inspection reveals dynamic brush strokes, subtle color transitions, and rich textures. Although his primary focus is seascapes, he also embraces landscapes, which often complement his marine scenes, showcasing his versatility as an artist.
