In this striking painting by Kélyne, we are invited to reflect in the serene atmosphere evoked by the three women playing musical instruments in a contemplative moment. Dressed in richly patterned red garments, the figures are delicately poised, their limbs elongated and stylised, evoking a sense of rhythm and harmony.
Kélyne’s use of flattened forms, angular lines, and bold patterns hints at the influence of Pablo Picasso’s figurative works, where the human form is abstracted yet imbued with grace and emotion. The warm palette of reds and earthy tones, paired with the intimate depiction of the women, creates an atmosphere of quiet beauty and reflection, making this a captivating piece and eye catching large scale canvas for any room.

In her words she says: “Get to the point. A minimum of lines for a powerful expression, an emotion. Remove, scrape, rub the materials as much as possible to obtain an effect of lightness, if possible overwhelming. Get to the heart of the emotional event that provokes the act of.”
