Framed original

A unique example of Patsy McArthur’s interest in capturing “the fleeting nature of experience” that contrasts themes of escapism with the timeless connotations of her monochromatic palette.

‘Jumping Man’ was originally a commission for the ‘Jump Design & Direction‘ company’s feature wall in their Shoreditch office that allowed Patsy to experiment on a larger scale. The piece effortlessly captures the feelings of the human experience, providing a sense of joy and relief in the liberation of everyday life that could be seen to provide a different perspective of the iconic photograph taken by Richard Drew of ‘The Falling Man’.

This comparison serves to emphasise the childlike nature of the ‘Jumping Man‘ as a frozen moment in time that Patsy immortalises in charcoal.
