This striking pair of limited edition prints, ‘Trooper’ and ‘Darth’, by British stencil artist AME72 (James Ame), captures the playful yet subversive tone that defines his work.

Known for fusing the worlds of urban art and pop culture, AME72’s instantly recognisable Lego figures bring a sense of nostalgia, humour and social commentary to the contemporary art scene.

Both pieces measure 50 × 50 cm (55 cm framed) and are part of a limited edition of 100. Rendered in AME72’s signature bold palette and precise stencil technique, these works reinterpret two of cinema’s most iconic characters through the lens of childhood imagination. The result is a clever balance between innocence and rebellion, where toys meet the tropes of street art and consumer culture.

Born in England in 1972, AME72 began experimenting with graffiti in the mid-1980s before developing a distinctive visual language built around the Lego motif. His work has been exhibited internationally, from London to Tel Aviv and Beijing, and he holds a Guinness World Record for the largest stencil artwork ever created. Collectors are drawn to his ability to blend irony with optimism, reflecting on themes of commercialisation, nostalgia and identity with playful wit.

This pair offers both aesthetic cohesion and cultural resonance, making them ideal as a set for display or investment. With primary market examples of AME72’s limited editions now selling out across major urban galleries, the availability of matching works such as ‘Trooper’ and ‘Darth’ presents a rare opportunity for collectors seeking the balance of accessibility, collectability and distinctive style that defines AME72’s art. Together, they embody the artist’s enduring fascination with pop icons and the joy of creative play that continues to inspire fans worldwide.
