Fabian Perez’s Cool Breeze and Cigarette is an evocative study in atmosphere, painted with his signature chiaroscuro. The scene captures a solitary figure, relaxed yet purposeful, standing in the quiet of the night. Soft shadows merge with pockets of light, revealing subtle details of posture and expression. A cool breeze seems to drift through the work, mingling with the curl of cigarette smoke to create a mood both calm and charged. Rich, muted tones bring warmth to the composition, while cinematic undertones recall moments of thoughtful solitude from classic film. Perez invites the viewer to linger in this stillness, engaging both the eye and the imagination.

Fabian Perez’s artwork is deeply influenced by his unconventional upbringing. Born in Buenos Aires in 1967, he grew up surrounded by the vibrant nightlife of his father’s nightclubs and bordellos. With his artistic mother and roguish father, Perez witnessed the glamour and romance of a world both passionate and secretive. These memories of stylish and fascinating characters now populate his work.
After losing both parents before his twenties, Perez began traveling the world, refining his artistic skills. During this time, he also discovered martial arts, a discipline that shaped the precision and dedication he later applied to his art.
Perez’s career took off in Italy, where his unique style gained recognition and fame. He eventually moved to the US, where his work continues to earn accolades. Now based in Los Angeles, Perez still creates new works and tours to engage with his ever-expanding following.
