Jim Conlin was born in Glasgow in 1945 and spent his formative years in Ayrshire. Initially trained as an engineering draughtsman, his keen eye for architectural form naturally evolved into a passion for fine art. Deeply inspired by the landscapes of Scotland and the charm of coastal Britain, Jim developed a distinctive style that blends technical precision with expressive warmth. Though he painted in various media, he became especially known for his watercolours and innovative use of acrylics. In 1996, he joined the Fine Art Trade Guild and later opened his own gallery near Glasgow. Over the years, Jim Conlin gained recognition internationally, with collectors drawn to his evocative portrayals of harbours, villages, and European vistas.
